With the spread of COVID-19, families are more likely to receive surprise medical bills and are less financially able to handle them. Despite some limited action on behalf of the U.S. Congress and Trump Administration, protections against most surprise medical bills during or after the COVID-19 pandemic are almost nonexistent.
